Thank You OCISD Counselors!
In recognition of National Counselors Week Ore City ISD wishes to give a shout of appreciation for our wonderful counselors on staff here in OCISD: Kurt Bannert (LPC/Behavior Specialist), Ericka Rogers (OCHS/OCMS Counselor), and Kimberly Matte (OCES Counselor).
KURT BANNERT: "My favorite thing about working with Ore City ISD is watching our kids grow. I have the wonderful opportunity to walk alongside and watch our students from the moment they walk onto our campuses until the moment they graduate. Being able to laugh with, cry with and help our kids process life and their mental health struggles on a daily basis makes every day special. Also being able to build relationships with our staff, parents and community help me to believe that our vision to see our Rebels succeed in all walks of life makes me so proud to be a part of the Ore City Family!"
ERICKA ROGERS: "My favorite part of this role is getting to know our students on an individual level and working alongside each student to help meet their goals."
KIMBERLY MATTE: "My favorite thing about being a school counselor is building relationships with students and giving them a safe space to be heard, seen and valued. I love getting to know the students and having the opportunity to support them in whatever way they need. This position is special in that I truly have the potential to impact students, staff and families."
Join us as we express our appreciation for all the work these outstanding professionals do with our Ore City students each and every day!
