OCISD Adds New Director Of Safety & Security
ORE CITY -- Ore City ISD Superintendent Lynn Heflin has announced the hiring of William Rogers as the new Director of Safety and Security for OCISD.
Rogers will oversee the overall management, strategic planning, development, evaluation, and implementation of the district's safety and security program.
"Ore City ISD is committed to the safety and security of all of our students and staff, every day," said Heflin. "Our number one goal every day is to ensure the safety of all persons in OCISD. Mr. Rogers will be a great addition to our team."
Following a 15-year career serving in the US Navy and Air Force reserves and active duty, Rogers has served in law enforcement and security for his entire civilian career. He has held positions with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (10 years), Upshur County Constable (15 years), Kilgore College Criminal Justice and Police Academy Instructor (7 years), Hallsville High School Law Enforcement Instructor (5 years), Chief of Police and Director of Security Operations in Linden-Kildare CISD (5 years), Longview City Marshal's Office (3 years), and most recently, Security Supervisor and Security Officer at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center.
Rogers earned an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Kilgore College in 1998, and then a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M in 2000. He also completed a Master of Education in Education Administration from UT Tyler in 2010.
